What the role is
What you will be working on
The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for managing the CET programmes and short courses, developing and delivering Continuing Education and Training (CET) in veterinary-related modules, including in-person/online lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, and assessments. The candidate will also teach selected Pre-Employment Training (PET) programmes. The candidate will assume the role of an attending veterinarian and a member of the NP Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Lastly, the candidate will engage with industry for collaborations and applied research in animal-related areas such as animal nutrition, veterinary diagnostics, and veterinary clinical practices.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage the veterinarian-related CET programmes and short courses. Collaborating with associate lecturers on curriculum development, academic administration and learners management to ensure effective course delivery and support.
Design, develop, and deliver in-person/online lectures, tutorials, practicals, and assessments for the veterinary-related CET and PET courses, including topics such as animal anatomy and physiology, pathology, immunology, emergency and critical care, and surgical & treatment procedures, etc.
Teach approximately 3 evenings and one weekend per week for CET classes
Conduct business development to support course growth and outreach for CET courses
Supervise and facilitate student-industry collaboration projects
Collaborate with industry partners on training, applied research, and consultancy projects to stay industry relevant.
Mentor students in character development, career readiness, and provide pastoral care.
Contribute to student-related activities, including leading overseas trips, internships, and outreach events.
What we are looking for
Degree in veterinary medicine from a recognised institution
A valid AVS license to practice in Singapore
At least 3 years of experience working at a veterinary clinic or hospital
Competent to plan, develop, teach, and support modules related to veterinary science and technology, including but not limited to the following:
Animal anatomy and physiology
Animal pathology and immunology
Veterinary diagnostics, surgical & treatment procedures
Clinical diagnostic techniques
Emergency and critical care
Pain management and anaesthesia
Veterinary Practices
Shelter Management
Able to adopt staggered working hours and conduct lessons in the evenings and/or weekends
Passionate about education and possess a strong interest in nurturing, teaching, mentoring and interacting with youth and adult learners
A team player with strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
Self-driven, independent and able to multitask effectively.
Additional qualifications and experiences that are advantageous:
Post-Graduate Diploma in Higher Education, Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA)
Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP)
Diploma in Adult Continuing Education (DACE)
