What the role is

Conservation and Urban Design Group (CUDG) oversees urban planning and design within the Central Area, to plan for and safeguard a well-designed public realm.

What you will be working on

To assist in the Boat Quay Revitalisation plan which aims to enhance and transform the existing infrastructure and character of the Boat Quay Historic District (BQ HD) into a pedestrian friendly and welcoming precinct. Intern’s involvement includes: 1. Stocktake of shophouse frontages in BQ HD via site visits and photos in preparation for joint agency clean up exercise. 2. Preparing of joint agency report card for each shophouse 3. Project management to ensure timely completion of clean-up exercise 4. Assessing submissions for compliance Learning Outcomes 1. Gain deeper insights and understanding on planning, urban design, and activation of public spaces 2. Learn how to put findings from site inspections into a visual and coherent manner for easy tracking of follow ups 3. Understand how to work with Agencies and manage project timeline 4. In-depth understanding of good urban planning and design initiatives

What we are looking for

1. Students currently pursuing studies related to Built environment (e.g. architecture, landscape architecture, urban studies), public policy. 2. Familiar with photoshop, AutoCAD, Sketchup, ChatGPT (or any other Generative AI platforms). 3. Able to commit for the internship from Aug 2025 onwards. 4. Open to full-time / part-time interns for min 3-4 days per week. Please state your availability and preferred working arrangement in your resume / application.
