What you will be working on

Responsibilities There are two main aspects to the job: Legal and Administrative/Managerial. (a) Legal 1. Scan horizons for legal developments of importance to AGC and prepare short digests of local and overseas cases on regular basis. 2. Organise, tag (with topic and legislation tags), and if necessary edit/ summarise/redact/update knowledge documents (eg. legal opinions and precedents) for AGC legal divisions. Assist to deconflict differences in opinion by providing balanced recommendations to AGC Senior Management. Can expect exposure to wide range of laws and legal issues across the AGC Divisions. 3. Manage AGC’s existing collection of legal opinions, forms, precedents and research materials. 4. Ongoing review of collated material for KM significance/value. 5. Study, and consider each piece of collated material (outgoing legal advice, draft agreements, internal memos etc) for long-term KM value. (b) Administrative/Managerial 6. Supervise the existing library services provider (an outsourced contractor) in library operations, including acquisitions of new books and other online information resources. 7. Supervise, manage and use of information platforms and tools (including acquisition) 8. Assist in planning and implementing organisation change to improve knowledge capture, sharing and collaboration including the following: • Develop and implement communication plans to the whole of AGC; and • Provide training and conduct briefings on AGC’s KM policies and the use of KM resources in AGC (eg. the Intranet; the Cross-Divisional Libraries) including during induction programmes. 9. Participate in building KM networks beyond AGC, including: • Share AGC’s KM experience with other organisations; • Conduct briefings on AGC KM for Legal Branch users and external visitors; and • Engage other organisations (including international and local law firms and others) for exchanges on KM best practices. 10. Assist in analysing statistics for KM reporting metrics and identify trends/anomalies. 11. Assist in any other AGC Academy tasks from time to time as required.

What we are looking for

Requirements: • Possess a degree in Law, with at least 3-5 years of relevant legal experience in a legal context. Experience in knowledge management would be an advantage but not essential as on the job training will be provided. • Possess adequate level of legal knowledge to devise practical and workable solutions in a specialised legal context • Possess basic IT knowledge from user perspective (Microsoft Office and familiarity with Sharepoint is an advantage) and willing to learn new IT skills and KM tools. • Good interpersonal and strong oral and written communications skills • Team player with growth mindset.
