What the role is
What you will be working on
The incumbent is responsible to formulate strategic plans which align to SportSG’s corporate direction and Vision 2030 goals. He/She oversees the smooth running of Active Health planning and budgeting cycles and milestone projects, including collaborations with key industry and healthcare partners, both local and overseas, as we enable citizens to embark on their health and wellness journey through an evidence-based approach. He/She oversees the capability development of Active Health, including upskilling of industry multipliers and leveraging technology to improve and scale operations. He/She monitors global trends, studies the latest research papers related to exercise science and population health, as well as analyses various data sources (eg. AH Performance, and NSPS) in order to develop and recommend shifts in the AH strategy.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Direct Active Health’s strategic planning processes and work streams.
• Develop business strategies to advance narratives based on review of Active Health’s strengths and gaps within the Singapore health and wellbeing ecosystem.
• Manage secretariat support in relevant steering committees and workgroups.
• Review progress and provide annual, mid-year and quarterly key performance indicator updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders and funders.
• Establish processes with ActiveSG, AH Engagement and PDD teams to enable members to effectively operationalise and to track impact of our work streams and traction of our narratives among key stakeholders.
• Work closely with finance and strategy teams to establish visibility of budget utilisation and resource allocation.
• Work with Strategic Communications and Engagement team in planning and managing media-related enquiries and features on Active Health.
• Develop and strengthen partnerships with MOH and Regional Health Systems to position Active Health at the fore front in support of national initiatives.
• Manage MOUs’ commitments with Active Health partners
• Establish partnerships in Social and Urban Planning Sectors to promote Active Health.
• Expand partnerships in Academia to support Active Health programme development.
• Review strategic platforms to advance SportSG’s thought leadership in health and wellness.
• Plan stakeholder mapping in order to build mindshare and for purpose of resourcing, programming scaling / outreach and narratives building.
• Explore strategic collaborations with overseas partners in areas such as health promotion and community engagement.
• Drive the development of Active Health Fitness Trails within the Health District.
• Develop best practice and design guidelines to support scaling of programming within Active Health Fitness Trails and Sports-in-Precinct spaces.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to bring programming into Active Health Fitness Trails and Sports-in-Precinct spaces.
• Work closely with AH PDD Team Leads, Data & Insights teams and AH Data Steward on precinct-level problem statements and preparing solutions based on data-driven analytics.
• Oversee preparation of dashboards and insights presentations to stakeholders, with strong focus on narratives and key success stories.
• Track outcomes for key Active Health initiatives for both national and precinct level programmes.
• Drive research focus for Active Health and work closely with AH PDD Team Leads and partners.
• Assess industry landscape and establish capability development needs in relation to Active Health.
• Develop the capability development plan for industry multipliers and work closely with the Active Health Programme Design and Development Team Leads in implementation.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to advance business plans and solutions.
• Prototype new technological capabilities to support operations.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community.
This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:
• At least 10 years of experience in sport science/management or related fields.
• Strong familiarity with strategic planning and budgeting cycles
• Strong familiarity with healthcare partners narratives and programmatic efforts
• Experience in project management and the ability to lead project teams and taskforces
• Experience in stakeholder management functions
• Knowledge and experience in statistical analysis (e.g. R software) and data visualisation (e.g. Tableau)
• Experience in designing and conducting experimental research on human participants
• Knowledge and experience in programme evaluation
• Possesses critical thinking skills and analytical ability to exercise independent judgement
• Comfortable with handling numbers and dashboards for reporting with a keen eye for details
• Good project management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Resourceful and able to work in a face-paced and dynamic environment
• Commitment to professional and personal growth and challenges
• High level of professionalism and integrity
• Love and enjoy sports and adopt health-promoting habits
The level of offer will commensurate with applicants’ experience and track records. Successful candidates will be offered a 2/3-year contract in the first instance.
