What the role is

As a Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing learners for both professional success and personal growth. Your responsibilities will span curriculum development and delivery for Pre-Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education & Training (CET) programmes, mentoring students, supporting culinary competitions, and contributing to industry-based and innovation projects.

What you will be working on

  • Design, develop, and deliver curriculum for both PET and CET programmes in areas such as Asian and Western Culinary Arts, Kitchen Operations. Ensure alignment with industry standards and incorporate both traditional and modern cooking techniques.
  • Lead and support applied research, industry collaborations, and school initiatives focused on culinary innovation, sustainability, and modern kitchen technologies.
  • Prepare and grade assessments and supervise learners in their daily coursework and practical applications.
  • Mentor and supervise learners, providing guidance in skills development, recipe formulation, and competition preparation. Actively support student participation in culinary competitions and promote excellence in culinary education.
  • Manage Learning Management System (LMS) and leverage digital tools to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Provide personal mentorship to students by supporting their academic progress, emotional well-being, and handling related administrative matters.

What we are looking for

Highly motivated and resourceful candidates who are nurturing and enjoy interacting with learners with the following:

  • Minimum of eight years of relevant industry experience in culinary field with supervisory experience in professional kitchens.
  • Have relevant qualification in culinary arts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, proficient in digital skills, ability to adapt and multi-task.
  • Mentor and supervise learners, providing guidance in skills development, recipe formulation, and competition preparation. Actively support student participation in culinary competitions and promote excellence in culinary education.
  • Candidates with proven participation and accolades in culinary competitions will have an added advantage.
  • Passionate about food innovation, with experience in crafting content that integrates sustainability and emerging culinary technologies.
