What the role is
The School of Technology for the Arts, Media and Design (STA) provides vocational training in using next-generation technology to enhance and deliver creative expressions in disciplines such as arts and theatre management, user experience design, game and gamification design and development, digital content creation and production, graphic design, and audio production. The School is looking to add a dynamic individual to our collaborative team who is experienced in AI-Enhanced Video Production and cutting-edge digital filmmaking technologies (Part Time).
What you will be working on
As Associate Lecturer you will:
1. Deliver and assess curriculum for youth and adult learners via face-to-face and E-learning modes, in these areas:
a. AI-Enhanced Video Production, including AI-assisted scriptwriting, pre-visualization, automated editing workflows, AI-generated visual effects, synthetic media creation, and machine learning applications in post-production for web, streaming platforms, and immersive content
b. Able to use post-production software like Adobe After Effects and DaVinci Resolve including their AI-enhanced features
c. Experience with AI video generation tools (Runway ML, Pika Labs, Stable Video Diffusion, Google Veo3 or similar platforms)
d. At least one foundational school discipline area (creativity, story writing and appreciation, photography, working in the creative sector, or arts history)
2. Supervise programme development activities as assigned such as portfolio development, competition training, and student projects
What we are looking for
• An appropriate degree or substantial appropriate work experience preferably in the field of Video Production, Digital Filmmaking, or Media Technology, specifically with expertise in AI applications for content creation.
• A minimum of four years of relevant industry experience preferably in video production, with demonstrated knowledge of AI filmmaking tools and workflows.
• A strong sense of initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as a team-player in collaborative settings.
• The ability to manage projects and events whilst adhering to strict timelines and conduct post implementation project reviews.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to large and small groups, and a sensitivity to the needs of people of diverse academic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
• A self-starter, agile learner, with a personal interest in coaching and mentoring others and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Strong analytical, administrative and digitalisation skills including accessing databases and IT-enabled automation.
Additional Advantages:
• Teaching or professional training experience
• Advance Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) certified
• Management experience
• Experience with AI scriptwriting tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) for content development
• Knowledge of machine learning workflows for video analysis, automated color correction, and intelligent editing
• Experience using digital design applications (Adobe Creative Suite or similar) and E-learning tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate or similar)
• Understanding of ethical considerations and best practices in AI-generated content creation
