What the role is
What you will be working on
You will work closely with Rail Operators to develop good ground knowledge of the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) issues to ensure that the Rail Operators’ O&M experience can be fed back to LTA’s design Divisions to facilitate the continual improvement of the design of Singapore’s Rail Transit System’s (RTS) lines for flexibility of operations and maintainability.
Your scope of works will include review of the design of medium voltage power systems, railway traction power systems (3rd rail and overhead catenary systems), low voltage reticulation schemes and investigations of incidents. You will also provide engineering support in witnessing the testing, commissioning and handing over of new assets to the Rail Operators.
You will work closely with Rail Operators to ensure that the RTS assets under your Division's charge is properly maintained by the Rail Operator to enable such assets to perform their functions reliably and safely.
You will ensure that the operators optimise the costs and benefits (for life cycle management) of assets under the purview of the Division for the duration of the service life of such assets so that such information can be derived to inform decisions on asset refurbishment, renewal or life extension.
You will review and audit the Rail Operator's maintenance plan/regime for compliance with the Rail Operator's submissions pursuant to NRFF licence condition.
What we are looking for
• Knowledge in Electrical Power Engineering
• At least 3 years of experience in design, installation, operation and maintenance of services and electrical installations up to and including 22kV; 1500V DC and 750V DC traction power supply systems and 400/230V reticulation systems
• Knowledge of railway work environment and relevant safety requirements
• Good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
