What the role is

Applications for the Ministry of Finance (MOF) Winter Internship Programme are now open. As an MOF intern, you will gain valuable insights and contribute to projects that support national policy-making and shape the everyday lives of Singaporeans. Interns are required to commit at least 4-5 weeks between 8 Dec 2025 – 11 Jan 2026. MOF's Performance & Evaluation Directorate is looking for undergraduates to undertake the following project(s). Note: You are welcome to apply for internships/projects with different MOF Directorates if the topics suit your interest and experience. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to indicate your preferred project(s) prior to the selection interview. Applications close 31 Aug. What you will be working on

Project #1: Analysis and Visualisation of Public Sector Office Trends The intern will develop a mapping solution to analyse and visualise the geographical distribution of Singapore public agencies' office locations, along with key metrics. This project aims to provide insights into space utilisation patterns across the public service, in support of MOF’s work in optimising Government office space take-up. The intern will work on the following: 1. Clean and analyse data on public agency office locations, rental costs, and space occupancy per headcount 2. Design and create a geospatial visualisation product showcasing the distribution of government offices in Singapore and highlight trends in: a. Rental costs across different regions and building types b. Space utilisation and occupancy patterns c. Agency clustering and co-location opportunities 3. Develop a guide and/or SOP with robust documentation for the product to facilitate knowledge transfer 4. Prepare and deliver a presentation of findings to MOF stakeholders at the end of the internship

What we are looking for

1. Undergraduate experience and/or strong interest in geography, real estate, urban planning, or related fields 2. Proficiency in geographic information system (GIS) software and/or geospatial data visualisation (e.g. Tableau, Python) 3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail 4. Strong project self-management skills, including documentation and knowledge transfer for sustainability 5. Good presentation and communication skills
