What the role is
Foreign Manpower Management Division (FMMD)’s work is to maintain high compliance of the work pass framework and to protect migrant workers (MWs) and migrant domestic workers (MDWs)’ basic rights. This helps businesses get the foreign manpower they need to grow, and thereby provides employment opportunities for locals.
The Investigation Department supports the division’s missions, through ensuring compliance through investigation of breaches, as well as taking enforcement actions against offenders. Enforcement actions against offenders can include prosecution in Court.
What you will be working on
As an Investigation Officer (IO) in the Investigation Department (FMMD), you conduct investigation into offences under the following legislations:
1) Employment of Foreign Manpower Act (EFMA);
2) Employment Agencies Act (EAA);
3) Foreign Employees Dormitories Act (FEDA); and
4) Prevention of Human Trafficking Act (PHTA).
Through investigations, you play a key role in upholding in maintaining a high level of compliance to MOM’s work pass framework and protecting the basic interests of the migrant workers. When assigned with a case, you shall identify the potential offences, plan and manage resources required to ensure investigations can be completed on time with the appropriate outcomes. You are required to conduct interviews and take statements and steer the collection of evidence. Thereafter, you shall make an assessment based on the evidence gathered, on an appropriate course of action to be taken against the parties investigated. You may have to plan and conduct operations.
You will also be given opportunities to build expertise through cross divisional postings within MOM to grow yourself professionally in the enforcement job function.

Note: Officers may be activated for ad-hoc night/weekend duties due to the nature of the work
It will be good if you have:
• Experience in enforcement and investigation
• A valid Class 3/3A driving license
