What the role is

We are seeking a professional to join the Street and Building Names Board (SBNB) Secretariat at URA. This role involves managing the process of evaluating and processing applications for street, building, and estate names in Singapore.

What you will be working on

1. Process and evaluate applications for street, building, and estate names, including HDB BTO estates, industrial estates, business parks, and other developments 2. Coordinate with multiple government agencies (including IRAS, NParks, NHB, LTA and MDDI) to gather inputs on naming applications 3. Assess applications against established guidelines and prepare recommendations for the Board 4. Manage regular email circulations of proposals to Board members 5. Support quarterly Board meetings, including preparation of meeting materials and documentation 6. Handle public and media enquiries regarding naming matters 7. Contribute to the review and enhancement of naming guidelines and procedures 8. Maintain comprehensive records of Board decisions and correspondence

What we are looking for

1. A degree or postgraduate diploma in urban and regional planning, architecture, civil engineering, transport planning, environmental studies, building, real estate or geography. 2. Good knowledge of Singapore's history, culture, and heritage would be advantageous 3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills 4. Good writing, evaluation and presentation skills 5. Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines
