What the role is

The Community Partnership and Communications Group works closely with our internal stakeholders, media, and community stakeholders to foster trust and confidence in the Home Team (HT) and garner support for our work in keeping Singapore safe and secure through effective comms and digital-first engagement strategies. The Community Partnership & Volunteer Management (CPVM) Directorate aims to rally the community towards taking greater ownership of safety and security of Singapore. We aim to do this through three pillars of work - growing our pool of volunteers across 12 HT volunteer schemes, strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders; and developing a culture of community partnerships and collaboration within the HT.

What you will be working on

• Develop policies/strategies to build up HT’s Partnership and Engagement (PE) capabilities. These overarching policies needs to be tailored to cater to the needs and operating environments of the different HT Departments. • Manage the stakeholders under HT Volunteers Network (HTVN) including the HT Boards/Councils/Committees (BCCs); Volunteers; and Advocates. This involves working closely with the HT Departments to review the schemes, manage the volunteers’ database, comms outreach, review and administration of volunteer retention efforts such as awards and recognition, etc. • Oversee the conceptualisation and execution of community engagement activities. This includes the organisation of learning journeys, HT Festivals etc. • Support the implementation of communications strategies to increase public awareness and profiling of HT volunteers and HT’s community partnership efforts. • Assess citizens’ proposals for partnership opportunities through the public-facing Partners Portal. • Oversee the nomination process, selection and appointment of Justices of the Peace. This includes working with key stakeholders to plan and coordinate all logistical aspects of the appointment and retirement ceremonies as well as ongoing engagement of this stakeholder group.

What we are looking for

• 6 to 10 years of experience in partnership and engagement, strategic comms and engagement or business development. • Passion for developing opportunities to create value in partnerships and engagement of stakeholders • Good written, communication and interpersonal skills • Good analytical and critical thinking capabilities • Good leadership skills with a passion for developing people and building a strong team • Team player and able to work both independently and in small teams • High level of initiative and willingness to learn • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes well
