What the role is
As the Corporate University of the Home Team, the Home Team Academy seeks to enable officers’ learning and enhance the Home Team Departments’ training through enhancing leadership development, skills transformation, Continuous Training and Education, and driving Home Team integration. Our training transformation efforts seek to develop well-trained officers who are able to successfully contribute to MHA’s mission of keeping Singapore safe and secure and to support the Home Team in its transformation efforts.
The Communications and Engagement team develops and drives all strategic plans and initiatives related to HTA’s branding, corporate communications, corporate engagements and protocol matters. It is responsible for building up HTA’s corporate image, and an effective and forward-looking organisation to both internal and external audiences.
What you will be working on
a. Advance and manage HTA’s international partnerships, local, professional and academic partners, events and strategic relationships. The role supports international and local collaboration by scanning, identifying and driving engagement activities and initiatives with international, local, professional and academic partners in alignment with HTA’s goals.
b. Develop and maintain international and local partnerships, including expanding Memorandums of Understanding, bilateral exchanges for Centers to leverage expertise and gain insights from these collaborations
c. Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
d. Server as the coordinator and host for external visitors, delegations and international stakeholders;
e. Lead secretariat work for major meetings attended by HTA senior management and eminent international and local experts;
f. Prepare briefing documents, reports, and correspondence for HTA senior management and stakeholders;
g. Work with the HTA Centres to take stock of existing partnerships and outcomes, review and strategise HTA’s engagement efforts for the next five years, assess and grow our mindshare on strategic training & learning areas led by HTA; and
h. Undertake secondary appointments, duties or projects as assigned by the immediate superior and Director, Centre for Human Capital & Communications.
What we are looking for
The jobholder should preferably possess the following:
a) A good University degree (preferably in Mass Communications, Political Science, Organisational Development or other related disciplines);
b) Strong interest in international developments;
c) Experience in managing partnerships, events or international projects;
d) Passion for working with people, with excellent interpersonal and listening skills as well as networking skills to engage diverse stakeholders;
e) Articulate, with strong writing and presentation skills;
f) Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organisational and time management skills.
