The Ministry of Law ensures a sound and progressive legal infrastructure, intellectual property infrastructure and insolvency regime, and optimizes land resources, to support national goals. As part of the Individual Insolvency and Debt Repayment Scheme Division (“IIDRSD”) of the Insolvency & Public Trustee's Office (IPTO), you will handle the adjudication of claims filed in cases under the Debt Repayment Scheme (“DRS”).
You will be responsible for all areas of adjudication under the Debt Repayment Scheme and will be involved in engaging debtors and creditors/ their solicitors in possession of information/documents relating to the creditor’s claims.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Examine the validity of claims filed by creditors by applying the relevant law and SOPs.
• Correspond with debtors and creditors/ their solicitors for additional information and/or further documentary evidence in support of the claims filed against the debtor.
• Resolve disputes between creditors and the debtors arising from the adjudication of the claim.
• Liaise with management and/or the legal division in the resolution of disputes.
• Liaise with the legal division in dealing with the rejection of creditors’ claims found not admissible by the Official Assignee.
• Send statutory notices e.g. notice of rejection of the creditor’s claim, and monitoring of the statutory timelines closely.
• Assess any appeals filed by the creditors to the rejection of the claim and liaise with the legal division within the appropriate timelines.
• Conclude the preliminary adjudication of all claims to determine the suitability of the debtor for the DRS within the Court’s timeline.
What we are looking for
• Academic training preferably in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Law.
• Work experience of 1 to 2 years
• Literacy & numeracy skills.
• Comfortable working with figures and have eye for detail and willing to deal with legal documents (e.g. judgments, Order of court).
• Ability to use Microsoft Office.
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Able to work independently yet be part of a team.
• Meticulous and ability to multi-task.
The successful candidate will be offered an 11-month non-renewable contract.
