What the role is
Build your career through the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) Work-Study Diploma (WSDip) programme. This comprehensive 2.5-year Diploma in Security Operations at ITE College Central runs concurrently with your employment, ensuring you receive your complete salary package and benefits whilst studying. Upon graduation, you will have opportunities for progression within the service. The programme requires one day of study per week at the college whilst you work four days per week at the prison institution, enabling you to simultaneously develop practical experience and academic qualifications.

What you will be working on
As a Prison Officer, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our prisons. You will be responsible for maintaining security by ensuring that all rules and regulations are strictly followed. This includes conducting routine checks, managing entry and exit points, monitoring surveillance systems, and responding swiftly to any incidents or emergencies.
You will actively interact with offenders, addressing their concerns and supporting their access to rehabilitation programmes and services. Your presence will be critical in fostering a secure and purposeful environment, where order and discipline are upheld.
What we are looking for
• ITE graduates with either
- Nitec with minimum GPA of 2.0, or
- Higher Nitec qualification
• Medically & physically fit
- For Male applicants: PES B1 and above, and able to pass ‘IPPT’
- For Female applicants: Able to pass ‘IPPT’
