What the role is
What you will be working on
Responsibilities
Co-led by Sport Singapore and Singapore Sports School (SSP), you will be part of a journey to support the vision for the next bound to build new capabilities for high performance sport and better integrate our programmes/policies to strengthen support for youth to senior athletes, and youth-to-senior transition.
You will lead the design and delivery of career development pathways that help our elite athletes transition successfully from sport into the workforce. You will manage approximately 100 athlete cases annually, engage with around 30 employers, and deliver career workshops throughout the year. This is an opportunity to shape the future of athlete career support by forging strategic industry partnerships, advancing employability initiatives, and advocating for athlete-friendly workplace practices across Singapore.
The broad areas of responsibilities for the portfolio include the following:
- Career Pathway: Development Design and deliver structured career programmes including career coaching, internships, job placements, and skills development workshops that align with national workforce priorities and improve athlete employability.
- Industry Partnership Building: Establish and maintain partnerships with corporates, trade associations, and government agencies. Negotiate MOUs and frameworks that create sustainable, long-term career opportunities for Team Singapore athletes.
- Athlete Advocacy & Branding: Champion athletes as valuable employees by promoting their transferable skills—discipline, resilience, and teamwork—whilst advocating for workplace flexibility and sharing success stories to inspire employer adoption.
- Programme Strategy & Integration: Integrate career support services with other athlete life support systems including education, financial, and mental wellbeing services to ensure a holistic, scalable athlete experience.
- Team Leadership & Development: Mentor junior staff within the Programme Office, building capability, setting clear standards, and fostering collaboration across teams and departments.
- Performance Monitoring & Insights: Develop KPI frameworks to track placement success, coaching effectiveness, and employer satisfaction, generating data-driven insights to refine programme strategies.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
• Background in Business Administration, Business Management, or related field
• 7-10 years of working experience with 4-6 years in partnership management within sports or education sectors
• 4-6 years of supervisory experience, preferably in athlete development, education management, or related fields
• Deep understanding of the sports ecosystem, ideally supported by personal athletic experience or sports management involvement
• Proven track record in fostering strategic relationships among multiple stakeholders
• Demonstrated empathy and understanding of athletes' needs
