What the role is
Our division compiles statistics on the digital and green economies, as well as the supply, use, and input-output tables (SU-IOTs).
As the compilation of statistics on digital and green economies is a recent initiative, we are looking to improve the statistical compilation process through:
1) Mapping current data processing workflows
2) Developing automation tools to streamline data compilation
3) Creating and maintaining a comprehensive database of companies engaged in digital and green activities, ensuring accurate sector classification and tracking, including the use of web-scraping/machine learning tools to identify the companies.
This project will contribute to Singapore's efforts to measure the growth of digital and green economies.
Over the course of this project, the intern will work with the team to identify process improvements and implement technical solutions.
What you will be working on
1) Process workflow documentation
2) Automation scripts with user guides
3) Structured company database based on a classification framework
4) System maintenance guides
5) Understanding of digital and green economies measurement
What we are looking for
- Programming experience (Python/R)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Database management knowledge is preferred
- Web-scraping / machine learning knowledge is advantageous
Preferred Discipline : Undergraduate from Computer Science / Data Analytics / Data Science / Business Analytics / Statistics /Mathematics / Economics
Internship Duration: 6 months (Jan-Jun 2026)
