What the role is
What you will be working on
Design, implement, and maintain Windows-based systems and infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPO) for Critical Information Infrastructure (CII)
Ensure compliance, service uptime, quality, and resilience of Windows platforms through Day 2 Operations
Execute migrations from existing Windows platforms to newer versions or cloud-based solutions
Implement continuous improvements to reduce toil, optimise performance, and align with industry standards whilst adopting modernisation with minimal impact
Develop and manage automation scripts and PowerShell modules to streamline operations and improve efficiency
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing clear communication, comprehensive documentation, and regular reporting on system status and projects
Implement configuration management following industry standards such as CIS
What we are looking for
A relevant university degree with at least 3 years of relevant working experience
Proven experience in Windows system administration and engineering, particularly with Windows Server and associated technologies
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Object (GPO) management
Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation tools
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware / OpenStack)
Familiarity with version control systems, configuration management tools, and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
Experience in supporting critical systems and implementing security best practices
Experience in implementing configuration standards (e.g. CIS) with drift management
Relevant industry certifications (e.g. MCSA, MCSE) are beneficial
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Strong service-oriented mindset with focus on operational excellence
Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and adapting to evolving IT landscapes
