What the role is
As a Shift Engineer at the PUB Joint Operations Centre, you will be part of the team that command and control key operations as well as respond to incidents to ensure water systems resume normalcy as quickly as possible.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
What you will be working on
• Prepare daily operations plan to ensure sufficient water supply to meet water demand as well as update senior management on daily water situation
• Monitor and analyse water systems data and water quality parameters at reservoirs, plants, service reservoirs, network and customer taps and alert relevant stakeholders
• Navigate monitoring and control systems to interpret data as well as perform data analytics
• Prepare, implement and review standard operating procedures and response plans
• Assess planned works and coordinate with stakeholders for the execution of planned works to ensure water systems remain resilient
• Coordinate incident management with external agencies
What we are looking for
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Environmental Engineering
• Able to perform shift work (3-shifts: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am)
• Able to work and think independently and a good team player and leader
• Good system thinking skills
• Good communication (both oral and written) as well as presentation skills
