What the role is

The Smart Nation Group – Digital Government (SNDG), under the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and administratively managed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), is at the forefront of the Singapore Government’s digital transformation. We shape and implement strategies and policies to achieve our vision of a Digital Government that is Digital to the core, and serves with heart. This includes building long-term digital capabilities for the public sector, driving innovation across Government agencies, and ensuring digital services are user-centric, secure and resilient. The Strategy, Policy and Resourcing (SPR) Division serves a horizontal function within the SNDG cluster, partnering other SNDG divisions to ensure a coordinated approach within SNDG as well as across Government, as we steer the direction of digital government.

What you will be working on

As an Assistant Director in the Strategy team, you will lead a team of 2 to 3 officers in driving Digital Government strategies for the Whole-of-Government (WOG), and have the chance to shape how Government agencies can better serve citizens and businesses through digital means. In this role, you will: • Formulate and refine WOG Digital Government strategies to uplift digital capabilities within Government. • Communicate Digital Government strategies to a diverse group of stakeholders across Government effectively, ensuring strategic alignment and buy-in. • Design and implement processes that translate strategy into digital transformation efforts across Government agencies, in support of Public Sector Transformation. • Work closely with SNDG leadership to identify strategic goals and priorities, and collaborate with SNDG teams and GovTech to deliver on these priorities. • Leverage policy and resourcing mechanisms to drive Digital Government outcomes. • Develop methods and metrics to measure and evaluate progress of our Digital Government efforts.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a dynamic, adaptable professional with: • At least 5 years of experience in public policy, strategic planning, tech policy or a related field. • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. • Keen interest in technology and willingness to keep up with technological trends. Technical knowledge or experience working with digital products is advantageous, but not a must. [Personal Traits] • Adaptable and quick learner who is comfortable working in a fast-paced and fast-changing environment. • Autonomy, resourcefulness and drive to get things done • Leadership qualities, such as taking initiative and responsibility, influencing and caring for others

About Ministry of Digital Development and Information

The Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI) drives Singapore’s digital development in four key domains — the economy, government, security, and society. MDDI oversees the development of the infocomm technology, cybersecurity, and media sectors; the Government’s digitalisation initiatives; and the national library, national archives, and public libraries. The Ministry is also responsible for effective public communications, and the Government’s information and public communication policies.
