What the role is

The Public Service Division (PSD) aims to build a first-class Public Service for a successful and vibrant Singapore. We do this through public sector leadership development, capacity and capability building and the promotion of quality services at all levels of the Public Service. We are looking for outstanding candidates with the vision and passion to contribute to help shape Singapore. The Challenge The operating environment of the Public Service is undergoing fundamental and rapid change. The issues we face are complex and multi-faceted, which impact the way the Public Service operates and organises itself. Internally, the changes in workforce profile have necessitated a new approach in how the workplace is designed, while the pervasiveness of technology has fundamentally changed the way we conduct our business. You will be part of the ServiceSG Centre Ops & Planning team in ServiceSG and will report to the Regional Director - Central/East (ServiceSG Centre Operations). ServiceSG, a department within PSD, has been set up to champion integrated public service delivery. It works with different agencies across the public service to integrate close to 600 services around key moments of life of citizens, and serve citizens in an integrated way, through a central omni-channel service delivery system comprising a digital platform (“LifeSG”), a network of physical service centres and a central call/contact centre. The ServiceSG Centre & Ops Planning (SCOP) comprises 2 key functions: 1. Service Centre Operations and 2. Ops Planning and Training & Service Excellence. What you will be working on

Learning Areas You will be involved in projects and service innovations that looks to improve the overall service delivery experience of the various ServiceSG Centres. This includes working with the Regional and Deputy Regional Director (Central/East) to explore and review tech, AI and digital solutions to improve the current service delivery model so that we can serve our residents more seamlessly and efficiently. You will also gain experience in supporting and coordinating visits and learning journeys from both local and international delegates. This unique exposure will allow you to gain insights in service delivery trends which facilitates the cross-learning of best practices within the service delivery industry. As functional leaders of the Whole-of-Government Service Delivery network, you will work closely with the Deputy Regional Director to collaborate with key public agencies partners to co-deliver national schemes within the centres. This would involve coordinating training sessions and on-site ops preparations to ensure that the new services can be delivered smoothly to the residents. You will also partner the SCOP volunteer management team to recruit and engage senior volunteers deployed across the various ServiceSG Centres. Since the inception of the volunteer programme in 2022, the pool of volunteers has grown steadily in numbers and service delivery capability. In the next phase of engagement, the team would look to roll out new engagement initiatives to further upskill the volunteers into ServiceSG seniors’ influencers as they engage their fellow seniors in the centre. [Specific Job Responsibilities] Support the administration of the various service delivery initiatives, which includes the following 2 key functions: Service Experience Enabler • Assist the Regional Director to pilot the digital AI concierge which enable residents to self-help in queue collection • Work with the Deputy Regional Director in the preparation, training and onboarding of new services and national schemes for co-delivery within the centre. • Support the Deputy Centre Head in the collation of service delivery best practices for sharing and learning within the centre. • Support the Centre Head to prepare reports and dashboards to effectively track the overall centre ops efficiency • Support the Centre Head to organise, document and prepare the various logistics arrangement for learning journey and centre tours Community Partnerships • Research and help build relationships with community organisations, schools, or public agency partners • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to recruit, onboard and engage new senior volunteers to compliment the frontline service delivery in the centres • Assist in planning and executing volunteer-driven events or service projects. • Help design recognition initiatives (thank-you notes, awards, appreciation events) for the annual appreciation event • Assist with reporting and tracking volunteer impact metrics, including gathering of volunteer feedback through surveys and check-ins. • Present to management on the findings and propose recommendations to this volunteer network • Maintain volunteer databases (tracking applications, hours, and engagement) and overall deployment plans across the 10 ServiceSG centres • Help document processes and suggest improvements for the next phase of volunteer engagement
