What the role is
What you will be working on
As a Data Policy Officer at Singapore Customs, you will be entrusted with a diverse and impactful portfolio of responsibilities. Your key duties will include:
- Develop and update relevant sections of Customs Department Orders (CDO) to implement data management and governance strategies that align with government policies and standards.
- Formulate plans to harmonise Customs' data schema and metadata catalog and lead efforts to acquire and maintain high-quality data efficiently and effectively.
- Develop structures, documentation, and processes to enhance the discoverability and comprehension of data within Customs and across the Whole of Government (WOG).
- Facilitate secure data-sharing within Customs and with other organisations, while managing residual risks related to data security.
- Provide guidance to data users on data documentation practices and ensure adherence to data governance policies during data acquisitions.
- Assist in resolving data governance issues in analytic projects and help our data users navigate data governance frameworks.
- Work closely with data engineers to ensure data management processes comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
