What the role is

You manage the daily operations and readiness of a 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC). Your role includes implementing new monitoring systems, managing operational processes/SOPs, as well as overseeing the administration and training of the Integrated Work Force (IWF) personnel required to run daily operations.

What you will be working on

- Oversee 24/7 monitoring of networks and systems, including fault management and maintenance tasks - Lead recovery teams in responding to and rectifying network faults and provide support for maintenance activities - Develop and implement daily management policies and operation procedures to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness - Work with operations managers to manage, operate and maintain network assets, ensuring their availability and security through coordination with relevant security operations centres - Collaborate with stakeholders to implement new capabilities and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations - Participate in contingency planning and exercises to ensure network resilience and effective disaster recovery - Exercise professional command and command of the IWF personnel, including overseeing their training, development, administration and discipline - Work with the company's management to appraise and motivate the IWF personnel - Ensure the staff comply with standing orders governing maintenance, safety, security and fire precaution - Provide oversight of financial responsibilities, including administration and management of contracts and budgets, in line with MINDEF Financial processes - Assist the Commanding Officer in managing the unit's operations and administration Challenge(s) - Providing clear directions and making decisions during IT outage incidents - Having a good understanding of MINDEF/SAF network architectures, operational processes and the relevant stakeholders involved - Maintaining high standards of performance in the NOC by ensuring the NOC operators are well trained and clear SOPs are set in place - Working with relevant stakeholders to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the NOC such as with the Contractors of the IWF, the Operations Managers of the OSIT Networks

What we are looking for

- Education in Information Technology (IT) is preferred - At least 15 years of relevant experience, ideally worked in the lT-related industry as a Deputy Director (or equivalent) role leading teams in a technical or operational managerial capacity, with 5 years in middle management - Accreditation in ITIL, CISSP or equivalent is advantageous.
