You will be part of a dynamic team working on user experience design for internal officer workflow systems that power Singapore's transport infrastructure operations. In this role, the Senior UX Designer or UX Designer is expected to undertake the following areas of work: 

(i) User Research and Workflow Analysis 

• Conduct comprehensive user research with government officers across different departments and agencies to understand workflow requirements and pain points 

• Develop comprehensive user journeys and task flows for multi-step approval processes, incident management workflows, and regulatory compliance systems 

• Create detailed user personas, journey maps, and service blueprints for officer workflows 

• Map existing workflows and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements 

(ii) Interface Design and User Experience 

• Design intuitive and efficient user interfaces for internal workflow systems used by government officers for operational processes, regulatory compliance, and service delivery 

• Create user-centered designs that streamline complex administrative tasks and improve officer productivity 

• Design sophisticated visualization dashboards and interfaces for real-time monitoring, performance metrics, and operational intelligence systems 

• Create user experiences that account for the safety-critical nature of transport operations and real-time system constraints  

(iii) Design Systems and Standards 

• Develop and maintain design systems and reusable UI component libraries for consistency across government platforms 

• Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and government digital service standards 

• Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using modern design tools 

• Provide detailed design specifications, style guides, and assets for development teams 

(iv) Technical Collaboration 

• Work closely with development teams to ensure design feasibility and implementation quality 

• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups 

• Conduct design reviews and provide guidance throughout the development lifecycle 

• Collaborate with solution architects and engineers to integrate UI/UX solutions with backend systems 

(v) Innovation and Emerging Technologies 

• Explore integration of AI/ML capabilities to enhance user experience and automate routine tasks 

• Research and propose innovative UI/UX solutions leveraging IoT data and smart city technologies 

• Stay updated on emerging trends in government digital services and public sector technology 

• Advocate for user-centered design practices across government digital transformation initiatives 

Additional Information:

The objective is to enhance and modernize internal workflow systems used by government officers managing Singapore's transport infrastructure, particularly in traffic, regulation, and operational domains. The team aims to deliver safe, efficient, real-time systems that increase officer productivity and streamline complex administrative procedures through digital transformation.

Designers are expected to simplify complex workflows such as multi-step approvals, incident management, and regulatory compliance in safety-critical, real-time environments. They must create intuitive, user-centred interfaces that reduce friction, improve usability, and support effective decision-making for transport officers.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in UI/UX design and solution 

• Strong expertise in intelligent transport systems, traffic management, user design and user journey methodology or related domains with proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions 

• Familiarity with machine learning, AI, and IoT technologies as applied to transport and smart city solutions 

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, and strong team players.
