What the role is

The position will be responsible for overseeing the claims disbursement processes for General and Enhanced Fund-Raising (EFR) programmes and managing of the EFR audit function. This role requires strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance with grant requirements and maintain high standards of governance.

What you will be working on

Claims Management

  • Process and evaluate General and EFR claims disbursement requests through thorough due diligence and financial checks

  • Ensure submissions comply with Terms & Conditions and fundraising requirements

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to address rejections, appeals and develop policy refinements

  • Manage and resolve enquiries and communication pertaining to claims submissions and related matters

  • Maintain accurate transaction records and prepare monthly reports

  • Complete Evaluation Reports for general programme claims, including reviewing disbursement requests for compliance with funding parameters

Audit Management

  • Develop and execute the annual EFR audit programme, including tender and procurement for the audit engagement, risk-based sample selection and audit planning

  • Prepare and present comprehensive audit reports to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommendations

  • Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and conduct follow-up reviews

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders throughout the audit cycle

Process Enhancement & Operations

  • Generate data analytics insights on disbursement patterns, cashflow and projections for management reporting

  • Support system improvements through user testing and implementation of new digital initiatives

  • Recommend process enhancements based on audit findings and operational reviews

  • Maintain updated standard operating procedures and process documentation

Other miscellaneous operational support

  • Support budget planning and forecasting activities

  • Handle ad hoc projects and assignments as directed by management

  • Participate in department initiatives and cross-functional workgroups

  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of all work

What we are looking for

Requirements:

  • Trained in business, accountancy or other relevant fields

  • 3-5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in accounting, administration or financial audit. Experience with government procurement practices and tender requirements will be a plus  

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to work with data

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with grantee representatives and internal stakeholders

  • Good planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Independent and meticulous with an eye for details

  • High level of integrity

  • Proficient in MS Office, grant management systems and other relevant accounting applications

Note: This is a fixed term contract role.
