What the role is
As a member of our Biology Division team, you will play a critical role in research & development (R&D) in the area of forensic biology, and casework analyses and reporting.
What you will be working on
- Perform literature review and design experimental plan
- Conduct workflow improvement, research and validation
- Conduct and supervise DNA analysis of crime samples.
- Interpretation and statistical analysis of forensic DNA results.
- Preparation and review of reports, and provision of expert Court testimony.
- Participate in QA/QC activities.
- Assist the Laboratory Director in general laboratory administrative matters and technical staff training.
What we are looking for
- Background in Life Sciences with Mendelian Genetics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology
- Sound life sciences knowledge with proven expertise in molecular biology/genetics as evidenced by publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
- Preferably have experience in programming (e.g VBA, python, R, SQL) and/or statistical software (e.g R Studio, SPSS, SAS) in life sciences setting.
- Familiarity with population genetics or metagenomics on MPS will be an advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with initiative and able to work independently.
