Description of Division:
As part of the RPG family, the Protective Service (PSV)/Operations (OPS) Division is dedicated to safeguarding the safety and well-being of individuals vulnerable to abuse, neglect, or exploitation—including children, vulnerable adults, and families affected by domestic violence. We provide statutory interventions and supportive services for those who have been seriously harmed or are at high risk of serious harm, ensuring timely, coordinated responses to meet their needs and uphold their protection. Additionally, PSV/OPS plays a key role in facilitating the child adoption process, ensuring the welfare of both the child and adoptive family.
PSV/OPS adopts a holistic approach through early intervention, comprehensive assessments, case management, and crisis response. Our team works in close collaboration with social service agencies, healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and community partners to identify risks, develop safety plans and provide ongoing support.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director, your role is to lead a team of protection officers to safeguard children’s safety and wellbeing by providing triages/investigation, supervision and guidance to them in assessing, putting in safety and intervention plans and decision-making for the cases.
As a Senior Manager / Manager (Team Lead), you will:
• Lead a team of protection officers undertaking triage/investigation, safety planning for children, guide assessments to put in place appropriate intervention plans and right-siting of referrals or cases to work with families and professionals to ensure continued safety and well-being of the children;
• Assist to oversee day to day operations of the team which includes regular reviews of cases, operational processes;
• Support and contribute to the development, implementation, and reviews of operational policies and processes on child protection to improve effectiveness and efficiency of CP’s function; and
• Work closely with vulnerable children and their families, the community and professional partners to build safer and stronger families.
