About the Consulting Practice:
The Consulting Practice within the Government Technology Office of GovTech helps agencies resolve complex IT challenges, modernize systems and develop innovative solutions with confidence. We bring together deep engineering, product, and design expertise to assess legacy environments, align stakeholders, and shape multi-year solutions that are human-centric, scalable, and delivered by GovTech and industry partners.
Each Consulting team member is a leader in their domain and works collaboratively with GovTech teams and agencies to address the government’s most critical technology challenges. As a founding member, you’ll also shape this growing practice while working on diverse and impactful problems in the public sector.
Role:
As a Principal Designer in the Innovation team, you will lead high-impact innovation engagements end-to-end, spanning research, problem definition, ideation & prototyping, solution design, visioning and running of proof of concepts (POCs). This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in accelerating the development of new digital products or services, who is excited to operate at the intersection of public sector, emerging technologies and designing user experiences for the era of AI.
You’ll apply strong research, experience design, prototyping, storytelling with consulting acumen to shape solutions that are not just desirable, but also feasible and truly impactful.
Manage design x innovation engagements end-to-end, from discovery to development of working prototypes and proof of concepts (POCs)
Drive innovation activities from research, strategic framing, to hands-on prototype building
Provide thought leadership, strategies and hands on support to agency product teams to level up their innovation capabilities
Facilitate co-creation between agency, GovTech and industry partners to bring emerging technologies to public sector use cases
Build the innovation playbook, combining methodologies, tools, templates and case studies that enable GovTech teams to deliver better innovation outcomes
Act as a coach and advocate of user-centred, innovation practices
