What the role is
What you will be working on
Process research permit applications in the system (involves liaising with research applicants, line divisions, and external agencies)
Consolidate monthly reports and statistics of research permit applications
Stocktake and catalogue past research permit applications for internal review and stocktaking
Consolidate and clean up volunteer database across watches to align with whole-of-NParks volunteer management review
Support Community in Nature schools data cleaning and management from school programmes
Support Community in Nature biodiversity data cleaning and management from citizen science surveys
Conduct literature review and international scan of best practices and/or global examples of biodiversity and citizen science databases
What we are looking for
Someone who enjoys systems-oriented work and is comfortable with a variety of system applications
Familiarity with coding and automating processes (i.e., PowerBI, PowerAutomate, Plumber, Python, R-, etc.)
Background in biology would be an advantage
Experience in interacting with members of the public and stakeholder management is beneficial
A good team player who is also able to work independently
Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills, meticulous, with attention to detail
Able to work weekends and after office hours for events and outreach, where necessary
Successful candidate will be offered an 11-month employment contract. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
