You will be part of the Communications and 3P Partnership Division, which is responsible for the formulation and implementation of communications strategies, the management of MSE digital media channels and the engagement of stakeholders to foster shared ownership of our environment and water and food resources. You will join the Strategic Communications and Media Operations team, which is responsible for day-to-day corporate communications for the Ministry, and the formulation and implementation of communications strategies. This includes working with your team and partners to build understanding of the Ministry’s policies on issues such as climate change, environmental protection, public health, food resilience and food safety, and water supply.

What you will be working on

Your key responsibilities may include: • Monitor and analyse media activities (media coverage and online sentiments) and recommend suitable response on the corresponding communications platform(s). • Develop and implement public communications plans with clear key messages for key policy announcements in consultation with MSE’s statutory boards. These include: • Drafting communications materials including media releases and responses to anticipated questions to effectively communicate MSE’s policies and initiatives. • Anticipating potentially sensitive issues that may affect the public negatively. • Engaging the media to help them understand MSE and our statutory boards’ position, as well as foster deeper appreciation of hot button topics so that key messages could be effectively communicated to the public. • Provide communications support to political office holders for events and engagements through: • Drafting of communications materials, including speeches, interview talking points and social media posts • Creating and curating content (in both digital and non-digital formats – videos, infographics) • Supporting political office holders in-person at engagements • Develop and execute crisis communications plans suitable for different situations that may negatively affect the public.

What we are looking for

Requirements: • Relevant experience in strategic, marketing and social media communications, and public relations • Excellent proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written • Good knowledge of local media, social media and current affairs • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills • Independent, motivated and able to multi-task in a dynamic environment. • Project management capabilities with ability to work effectively with stakeholders and cross-functional teams • Proficiency in a vernacular language would be a bonus
