What the role is

ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute is a research centre dedicated to the study of socio-political, security, and economic developments in Southeast Asia and its wide geostrategic environment.

Under this internship, you will be attached to the ASEAN Studies Centre, which carries out research on issues pertaining to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as an institution and a process. Through research, publications, conferences, media engagement and outreach activities, ASC seeks to promote greater understanding of ASEAN and to contribute towards regional cooperation and integration. The Centre conducts studies and provides inputs to stakeholders on issues and matters that call for collective ASEAN actions and responses, especially those pertinent to building the ASEAN Community.

What you will be working on

The intern will be expected to participate in the following tasks:

  • Assist in the production of the State of Southeast Asia Survey 2026, including data collection and compilation
  • Assist in organising the Centre’s events and outreach activities
  • Other administrative tasks when required

What we are looking for

Requirements

  • University student with research interest on ASEAN and Southeast Asia affairs
  • Strong research and communication skills
  • Meticulous, organised and good statistical skills
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools would be an advantage.

Internship Period: Nov 2025 – Jan 2026
