What the role is

The incumbent will support the Heads in organizing the biennial STE Conference which strengthens the engagement with the Public Service STE community. The individual will coordinate efforts across various teams in S&TPPO, Ministries, and public agencies to develop a robust conference programme at a whole-of-government (WOG) level. As the work at S&TPPO is collaborative in nature, the candidate should be a team player who can effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for building an engaging conference to deliver outcomes coherently and synergistically as One STE Public Service.

What you will be working on

Stakeholder Liaison Serve as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders, partner agencies, and vendors on conference-related matters. • Coordinate communications with the appointed Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) to ensure alignment on timelines, deliverables, and responsibilities. • Facilitate meetings, prepare briefing notes, and track follow-up actions across stakeholders. Event Planning and Coordination Support the planning of conference programme elements including speaker engagement, logistics and delegate experience. • Monitor progress of event preparations against the project plan, flagging issues and proposing solutions to keep the event on track. • Assist in the preparation of materials such as agendas, presentations, reports, and publicity collateral. Operations and Administration Maintain and update project documentation, contact lists, timelines, and issue logs. • Support budget tracking and administrative tasks such as procurement, invoicing, and contract management. • Coordinate logistics for preparatory workshops, site visits, and rehearsals as needed. Onsite Support • Provide operational support during the conference including registration, coordination of speakers and VIPs, and troubleshooting onsite issues. • Work closely with the Conference Organiser and venue to ensure smooth day-of execution. • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

What we are looking for

Background in Event Management / Business / Marketing or equivalent with at least 2 years of working experience. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Communicate effectively and able to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. • Analytical and able to evaluate project outcomes and implement improvements. • Experience in creating visual presentation and materials, with track record of meeting project timelines.

About Science and Technology Policy And Plans Office

The Public Sector Science and Technology Policy and Plans Office (S&TPPO) is a department under the Prime Minister’s Office and serves as the functional leader for the Science, Technology and Engineering (STE) domain in public sector. We collaborate with other centre-of-government agencies to identify, resource and review key STE capabilities, and leverage STE as an enabler to transform operations to deliver more cost-effective and cost-efficient outcomes, thereby building a future-ready and more sustainable Singapore. S&TPPO also aims to develop and implement HR strategies and levers to strengthen capability development and career value proposition of STE professionals in the Singapore Public Service.
