What the role is

As a (Senior) Assistant Director/ Deputy Director, Digital Policy and Planning in the Digital Excellence and Products Division, you will lead a team to work closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) to oversee ICT planning and ensure compliance with security and government rules. These would include developing and implementing digital strategies, as well as managing programmes and projects.

What you will be working on

• Lead strategic digitalisation initiatives across MOE and its 10 Statutory Boards through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and resource optimisation • Drive Ops-tech integration through design, conceptualisation, and validation of Data Analytics, AI, and IoT solutions to enhance business outcomes through effective digital technology adoption • Ensure strategic alignment of digital technology and data initiatives across MOE and Statutory Boards with whole-of-government directives • Provide leadership and guidance in major digitalisation steering committees by collaborating with the Ministry Family CIO and Chief Digital Strategy Office to plan agenda and programmes for meaningful discussions

What we are looking for

• At least 15 years of experience in IT management, including 5 years in a leadership role managing teams • Experience in policy development and implementation, coupled with proven ability to drive initiatives • Strong understanding of IT governance framework (e.g. COBIT) • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and oral) with proven stakeholder engagement abilities • Proficiency in workshop facilitation and/ or experience in managing and coordinating meetings and discussions • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and possess an agile mindset • Good understanding/ knowledge of the Government’s IT policies (e.g. IM8 and data management), MOE policies and/ or schools’ operations as well as in technology areas such as data analytics, AI and IoT would be an advantage In general, applicants can expect to hear from us within 4 weeks from the close of the application window.
