What the role is
Do you have what it takes to keep a specialist police unit moving at high tempo, where every vehicle is mission-critical and failure is not an option? If so, we want you to be part of our team at the Security Command, Singapore Police Force (SPF).
A Transport Officer in a police specialist unit plays a critical role in ensuring that fleet management is well-coordinated to support the unit’s demanding and high-tempo operations. This responsibility involves overseeing the readiness, maintenance, and deployment of all vehicles within the unit to guarantee operational reliability at any time.
You will be placed under the Management Executive Scheme.
What you will be working on
The Transport Officer must ensure vehicles are serviced, inspected, and properly equipped for both routine duties and emergency responses, while also managing fuel usage, spare parts, and logistical support. In addition, the Transport Officer is expected to plan and allocate transport resources effectively, balancing the need for rapid mobility with strict adherence to safety and operational standards. By maintaining a disciplined system of accountability and anticipating potential disruptions, the officer ensures that the unit’s fleet remains a dependable backbone for mission success under high-pressure and time-sensitive conditions.
The key responsibilities include:
• Ensuring operational readiness of operation vehicles. This includes coordinating with the servicing contractors to service and/or repair the vehicles.
• Responding to emergency calls related to transportation, such as accidents, breakdowns or critical safety concerns outside office hours.
• Performing routine administrative duties such as verifying the fuel receipts, cashcard usage records etc.
• Following up with police departments and other agencies on traffic investigations.
• Assisting in audits and checks.
• Assisting in developmental projects.
What we are looking for
Knowledge and skills –
• Preferred to possess Class 3 and 4 driving licenses.
• Preferred to be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint and good soft skills.
• Officer will be sent for training if required.
Experience –
• Good understanding of the unit standing orders, Instructional Manual and operational procedure to ensure good governance and that all work procedures are executed effectively.
Attributes –
• Possess good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with external vendors and difficult members of public (workshop, maintenance personnel etc.).
• Able to work independently and as a team.
• Resilient, patient and able to work under pressure.
• Healthy and fit as job holders are expected to move around to attend to issues.
