What the role is
We are seeking a dedicated engineer with strong technical expertise in environmental health and the built environment. You should have experience in both field and laboratory research methodologies, with knowledge in indoor air quality assessment, ventilation system analysis, and bioaerosol science.
What you will be working on
You will design and conduct field and laboratory research to assess and mitigate environmental exposure concerns in the built environment. Key areas of focus include indoor air quality, ventilation systems, and bioaerosol science. You will also contribute to developing national environmental public health policies and collaborate with stakeholders to translate scientific findings into actionable policy and operational solutions.
What we are looking for
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Excellent knowledge of air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) systems, air distribution and airflow, indoor air quality management, and air-cleaning technologies
- Experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), field investigation of ACMV and IAQ issues, and research on indoor air quality and ventilation
- Experience in data analysis and statistical analysis
- Experience in studying airborne microbiomes and pollutants
- Valid Class 3 driver's licence with willingness to travel to field sites preferred (vehicle provided if available)
- Capacity for systems thinking and inclination towards trans-disciplinary science
- Strong interest in public health research, policy, and operations
- Excellent organisational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Openness to developmental opportunities
