What the role is

As part of the Human Capital Management Group under the People & Organisation Directorate, the Finance Workforce Planning team spearheads talent and leadership development and succession planning for the Finance and Internal Audit workforce across the Public Service. In this role, you will shape talent and leadership strategies, drive career development initiatives, design engagement programmes and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to strengthen the Finance and Internal Audit workforce to be leading, engaged, agile and productive.

What you will be working on

Responsibilities • Conduct workforce planning analysis to assess the landscape of Public Service Finance and Internal Audit leadership jobs, succession pipeline and talent bench strength to inform workforce strategies • Design talent and leadership development frameworks encompassing career progression pathways, leadership development programmes, job rotation opportunities and succession planning strategies to strengthen talent pipeline and facilitate leadership renewal for the Public Service Finance and Internal Audit community • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders including senior leaders and agency partners to pilot talent and leadership development initiatives, including facilitating internal and external career development opportunities that support agency priorities and advance Public Service-wide objectives • Lead talent and leadership engagement programmes to build professional networks, strengthen identity and relationships, foster collaboration and promote career growth and development opportunities • Develop data-driven workforce strategies to identify trends and predict future needs for the Public Service Finance and Internal Audit community

What we are looking for

Requirements Key Competencies • Embraces complexity and ambiguity and proposes innovative approaches to address current challenges and anticipate future needs • Proactively suggests new ways of working to better meet the needs of diverse stakeholders • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills, identifies evolving needs and develops HR interventions to enhance workforce capacity and strengthen capability, using data to drive decisions • Team player with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Functional Competencies • Tertiary qualifications • At least 3 years of experience in HR or strategic planning • Prior HR or strategic planning experience in the public sector and familiarity with Civil Service policies and guidelines will be an advantage
