What the role is
What you will be working on
The temporary staff member will provide dedicated support for the SportCares Champions Leadership Programme (SCLP), Volunteering, and YouthUP Programme portfolio, focusing on comprehensive project management, stakeholder coordination, and relationship-building across multiple locations and diverse community partners. The role involves supporting holistic youth development through personalised mentorship coordination, skills training facilitation, programme monitoring and adaptation, and fostering environments that promote positive social interaction and resilience to guide youths towards constructive pathways and responsible citizenship.
Job Responsibilities:
• Guide and support youths in planning and executing SCLP service projects, providing on-ground oversight during event days and assisting with programme evaluation.
• Manage coordination with partners and beneficiaries, plan youth engagement activities including birthday celebrations and bonding sessions to foster strong relationships within the programme.
• Co-lead major programme initiatives including SCLP Recruitment, Orientation, Big Brother Big Sister programme, SportCares Children's Camp, "A Day To Remember" Carnival, and SCLP Graduation ceremonies.
• Maintain youth volunteering database, update master lists of volunteering opportunities and potential team service projects and manage monthly volunteering records dissemination.
• Guide and support SNL teams in planning and executing team service projects while coordinating effectively between teams and community partners.
• Facilitate coordination between coaches/vendors and community homes and assist in planning school holiday programmes for community home residents.
• Manage attendance records, coordinate venue bookings and transport arrangements, and support programme evaluation processes.
• Conduct regular check-ins with mentors and mentees, and support research, planning, and coordination of workshops, training sessions, and activities for programme participants.
• Co-lead special events including the SportCares Mentoring Appreciation Night to recognise and celebrate programme achievements.
• Manage programme procurement within approved budgets and timelines, evaluate suppliers according to government guidelines, oversee vendor relationships and performance, and collaborate with Finance and Procurement teams to ensure prudent fund management.
What we are looking for
We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active.
In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following:
• Tertiary education in a relevant field such as Sport Science & Management / Social Work / Sociology is advantageous.
• Minimum 1 year experience in organizing and implementing programmes and outreach (not necessary sports related) to vulnerable children & youth and families, persons with disabilities, and/or seniors.
• Experience in programme design, monitoring & evaluation.
• An understanding of Singapore sporting ecosystem.
• Experience working in the social service sector is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
• Strong organisational, project management, and administrative capabilities with attention to detail.
