What the role is

As a Meteorological Assistant, you will be part of a dedicated team that supports the installation, maintenance, and operations of meteorological observation systems and infrastructure. Your work ensures the reliability and accuracy of weather data collection, which is vital for weather forecasting and climate monitoring.

What you will be working on

The job scope will include but not limited to the following:

  • Assist in the installation, calibration, and maintenance of meteorological equipment and sensors
  • Lead and supervise contractors in scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance works
  • Manage technical projects, including procurement and contract administration
  • Support site installation works and provide escort duties where required
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for permit applications and license approvals
  • Ensure compliance with Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations and report any infringements
  • Operate and maintain meteorological systems and follow standard procedures for data collection and processing
  • Monitor contractor works involving civil and electrical installations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance
  • Execute routine procurement tasks and support contract management activities

What we are looking for

  • Strong interest in technical systems and environmental monitoring
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented, with a preference for field work
  • Basic electrical knowledge and familiarity with safety protocols
  • Comfortable managing contractors and coordinating site activities
  • Organised, proactive, and able to work independently
