What the role is

We are looking for an individual with biomedical/ life sciences/ biology background to be part of a team that conducts blood donation testing and blood component processing. The appointee for this position will be hired in the Blood Supply Management Division, and he/she will work in a lab-based environment. If appointed, you are expect to work 5 days a week which will include public holidays and weekends as rostered. You will also be expected to perform shift work, and may be assigned to either morning, afternoon or night shift depending on a rotating roster.

What you will be working on

·       Provide laboratory support in managing the national blood supply

·       Perform all tests and processes in the assigned laboratories, within set standard operating procedures and guidelines

·       Be involved in the preparation and quality control of blood and blood components and laboratory testing of donated blood for blood groups and infectious diseases

What we are looking for

  • Relevant qualifications and background in Science
  • A meticulous individual with good organisation skills
  • Resourceful and works well both independently and in a team
  • Able to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Expected to work shift duties, weekends and public holidays
  • Experience in a healthcare/biomedical laboratory setting would be an advantage

The appointee can look forward to a competitive total package comprising of basic salary, shift allowances, bonus payouts and other staff benefits.
