Candidates should possess:
• Minimum tertiary qualification (Degree) in Science, Engineering and/or related disciplines
• Preferably with 1 to 3 years working experience in a technical role in Biometrics or related fields; Candidates with no prior experiences are welcome to apply.
• Good understanding of:
- Biometric traits and their significance
- Components of biometric systems and methods to assess their performance.
- Technologies used in biometric sensors and recognition algorithms
- Anti-spoofing solutions and methodologies for biometric systems testing
- Statistics and mathematics, including probability, sampling method, linear algebra and more
• Experience in software development and system integration is preferred:
- Using languages such as C#, Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
- Involving machine learning and artificial intelligence, more specifically in the fields of computer vision or deep neural networks
- Familiar with Agile software development methodology and containerisation technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiar with using environmental sensors (e.g. light, humidity, sound and temperature) to simulate different operational setting in an indoor test environment
• Demonstrate self-directed learning
• Highly adaptable to changes in a fast-paced environment, with proven ability to effectively prioritize and deliver tasks on schedule
• Have good interpersonal and communications skills for engagement with internal and external stakeholders
• Be able to work independently as well as being a good team player
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Be able to write and speak well
All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
