What the role is
What you will be working on
You will be part of a dedicated team managing environmental analytical services and data systems that underpin critical decision-making. In this role, you will:
Manage and administer contracts for provision of laboratory analytical services and environmental sampling.
Endorse and process request forms for laboratory services, including planning for additional sampling where required.
Review and certify contractors’ monthly reports on works performed and verifies invoices
Provide inputs and assessment on water quality data during investigation of water pollution incidents by ensuring timely and accurate water quality results.
Assist in the updating of the water quality database, including verifying results and ensuring timely data entry.
Assist in the preparation of procurement documents for laboratory services contracts
Provide support in internal and external audit checks where necessary.
Contribute to ad-hoc assignments and administrative tasks as needed.
What we are looking for
The job might be for you if:
At least 2 years of relevant experience in laboratory or environmental sciences
Knowledge of government finance and procurement processes and systems (e.g. GeBIZ) will be an advantage
Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal and external stakeholders
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with data analytics, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), or artificial intelligence will be an added advantage
Self-driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results under pressure within tight timelines
You will be working in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
