What the role is

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes. AVS works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the First Responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our biophilic City in Nature.

What you will be working on

You will be part of the team to manage engagement efforts and operations at The Animal Lodge (TAL). As part of your daily work, you will be assisting with the following:
 

[What you will be working on]

•   Planning and executing engagement work relevant to ensure smooth operations at TAL, including:
o    Engaging and/or managing TAL stakeholders (eg. tenants, volunteers)
o    To serve as the key liaison between the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) and animal welfare volunteers, ensuring smooth coordination of site visits, timely health updates of animals, and effective communication to support community animal management efforts. 
o    Coordinating with contractors
o    Addressing public feedback
o    Working with other branches within AVS 
•    Schedule and manage regular visits to AVS facilities and field sites.
•    Maintain an up-to-date roster of active volunteers and their areas of involvement.
•    Facilitate onboarding for volunteers.
•    Track and report on animal welfare concerns raised during visits.
•    Maintain accurate records of visits and volunteer activities.
•    Facilitate operational work at The Animal Lodge (TAL). Operations including providing secretariat support and general administration
•    Perform other assignments or projects as required

What we are looking for

•    Area of studies in Life Sciences, Biology, Zoology, or other related animal-science disciplines
•    Experienced in volunteer coordination, outreach, community engagement and partnerships and/or communications-related work
•    Good written and verbal communication skills
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•    May be required to work ad-hoc after hours, on weekends and public holidays based on roster
•    Strong management and coordination skills, independent, self-motivated, meticulous and enthusiastic.
•    Independent and able to work effectively with others in a team environment.
•    Positive attitude, meticulous, energetic, possess good communication and interpersonal skills and passionate about animals.


Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Successful candidates will be offered a 11-month employment contract
