What the role is

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes. AVS works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the First Responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our biophilic City in Nature.

What you will be working on

[What the role is]

You will be part of the team to manage the operations at the Centre for Animal Rehabilitation and The Animal Lodge (TAL). You will be required to supervise contractors and caregivers and manage procurement and inventory services. As part of your daily work, you will also be assisting with the following:
 
[What you will be working on]

•    Assist with animal operations, including animal handling, care and husbandry.
•    Supervise the daily care and well-being of animals, including feeding, husbandry of animals.
•    Administer medication and/or supplement to the animals, whenever necessary.
•    Monitor the daily health and maintain health records of the animals.
•    Assist and support veterinarians in veterinary examination and triage. 
•    Assist with the different duties, activities and programmes related to the operations. 
•    Data management and analysis, regular maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment and workplace health and safety.
•    Oversee administrative tasks of the shelter including animal record keeping and procurement.

What we are looking for

•    Area of studies in Veterinary Technology / Veterinary Bioscience or any other relevant discipline 
•    Relevant working experience in animal care or husbandry preferred.
•    May be required to work ad-hoc after hours, on weekends and public holidays based on roster
•    Relevant working experience in animal care or husbandry preferred.
•    Strong management and coordination skills, independent, self-motivated, meticulous and enthusiastic.
•    Independent and able to work effectively with others in a team environment.
•    Positive attitude, meticulous, energetic, possess good communication and interpersonal skills and passionate about animals.
