What the role is

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team to safeguard the environmental public health of Singapore. You will be part of the Vector Control and Operations Division, responsible for planning and implementing vector surveillance, prevention, and control programmes. An evidence-based, integrated vector management approach underpins the work that the Division does and requires close partnership and concerted efforts by multiple internal and external partners and stakeholders.

What you will be working on

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Monitor the outcome of Wolbachia-Aedes mosquitoes releases
  • Conduct field investigations to assess and recommend required interventions for areas where the mosquito population is high
  • Carry out contract management including:
    • Conduct audit and engage vendors on contractual matters, to ensure that the desired mosquito suppression effect is achieved
    • Compute and collate relevant data for monthly payments to vendor(s)
  • Gather and analyse data for insights and solutions, and prepare reports for management
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to execute the Wolbachia suppression programme
  • Assist in planning the expansion of Wolbachia-Aedes mosquito releases to more locations
  • Carry out briefings to stakeholders and members of public as part of our outreach strategy
  • Manage feedback from residents and other stakeholders, and work with various partners to address their concerns
  • Review work processes regularly to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Represent the division and contribute to discussions on operational IT systems
  • Any other duties regarding Vector Control work with emphasis on the use of Wolbachia technology

What we are looking for

Requirements:

  • Experience in contract management and procurement procedures will be an advantage
  • Perform data analyses and analytical reasoning
  • Able to grasp new topics and work quickly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • A committed team player with good communication/interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
  • Independent and resourceful in obtaining the necessary information and assistance required to complete tasks.
  • Meticulous with an eye for detail
  • Organised and able to multi-task
  • Personable and pleasant personality
  • Mature and can work independently
  • Highly self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Willing to work outside of office hours, weekends and public holidays if required
