What the role is
The Internal Audit Unit (IAU) in SG Enable (SGE) is responsible for providing independent and objective assurance and consulting services to management. The IAU helps SGE accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
The IAU's main responsibilities include planning and conducting internal audits, and providing advisory services. Internal audits are conducted to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, compliance with policies and procedures, and the reliability and integrity of financial and operational information.
You will head the IAU team to assist CEO by working with the SGE Management and Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) to improve governance, risk management and streamline processes for greater operational effectiveness and efficiency.
What you will be working on
• Develop and present the annual internal audit work plan for ARC’s endorsement, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, emerging risks and regulatory requirements.
• Plan and implement audit reviews, present findings and recommendations to the ARC, and provide strategic insights to strengthen governance, risks management and internal controls
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders through advisory projects to enhance governance, risk management and streamline processes for greater operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Coordinate annual audit planning activities and identify priority areas for review.
• Lead, conduct and oversee in-house audits to identify control gaps and recommend improvement to business processes.
• Work with divisions to ensure compliance with policies, processes and governance standards.
• Execute advisory, educational and ad-hoc projects aimed at enhancing organisational effectiveness
• Supervise outsourced audits conducted by IAU’s service provider, monitor their performance and ensure quality outcomes
• Supervise staff’s follow up to verify implementation of past audit recommendations.
• Organise and provide secretariat support for ARC meetings.
What we are looking for
• Minimum 12 – 15 years of relevant working experience, including 7 years in supervisory role
• Relevant certification such as CA, CIA or CISA would be advantageous
• .
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to analyse complex situations, identify key issues and formulate effective solutions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, with strong negotiation skills to influence and promote positive change
• Proficient in use of data analytics tools such as Power BI, SAS software, ACL or Python
