What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. The role is primarily operational and is focused on developing and executing large-scale, multi-agency healthcare readiness exercises. The job holder requires strong operational coordination, practical problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage diverse stakeholders toward common preparedness goals.

What you will be working on

Emergency Preparedness Exercises • Support the designing, planning, and execution of MOH-level Healthcare Readiness Exercise for public hospitals and polyclinics. • Develop exercise objectives, scenarios, master event lists and injects. • Provide operational support during execution and control of exercises. • Conduct After Action Reviews (AARs) and generate reports with recommendations. Stakeholder Coordination and Sector Integration • Coordinate exercise and preparedness efforts with hospitals, polyclinics, internal MOH divisions, and external agencies. • Engage stakeholders to ensure participation, buy-in, and integration of plans. Crisis Response and Ad-hoc Operations • Support operational responses (e.g., contact centre setup, workflow redesign) during crises or drills. • Support incident command structures during actual events. Communication and Influence • Prepare and deliver reports and briefings for MOH Senior Management. • Advocate for emergency preparedness priorities across the sector.

What we are looking for

Relevant Experience and Competencies/Proficiency Levels • Entry-level Position • Polytechnic diploma or university degree, preferably in healthcare-related disciplines Key Competencies Required: • Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements – Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the planning and execution of Public Hospitals’ Readiness Exercises. • Serving with Heart, Commitment and Purpose – Ensure that exercises are designed and executed with the safety, well-being, and confidence of the public in mind. Actively engaging stakeholders throughout the emergency exercise lifecycle. • Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Possesses the drive and curiosity to learn and apply new skills, knowledge and new ways of working. • Improving & Innovating – Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved. • Working Effectively with Stakeholders – Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards the successful design, planning and execution of Public Hospitals’ Readiness Exercises. Personal characteristics & behaviours • High integrity and commitment to public service values • Strong sense of responsibility and professionalism • Resilient and able to perform under pressure with sound judgment • Adaptable with a proactive and continuous learning mindset • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to influence and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering results and continuous improvement

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
