What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. This traineeship offers opportunity for exposure to digital audit, compliance, and crisis management within the healthcare sector. Trainees will explore the application of data-driven risk assessment, regulatory compliance, technology-enabled contract management, and innovative crisis preparedness frameworks. This role provides valuable experience in both traditional audit functions and emerging digital governance requirements, developing competencies highly sought after in both public and private sectors.

What you will be working on

Key Tasks and Responsibilities This traineeship combines digital transformation, audit compliance, and crisis preparedness within Singapore's healthcare system. You will help develop and propose improvements to digital audit platforms, data analytics frameworks, and automated compliance systems whilst conducting risk assessments, validating crisis response mechanisms, and managing contracts and grants. The role offers hands-on exposure and experience with cutting-edge technologies including predictive analytics, automated monitoring, and real-time data visualisation. You will help to develop critical competencies in data analysis, regulatory compliance, crisis management, and stakeholder engagement whilst proposing innovative solutions to enhance operational effectiveness. This position provides excellent preparation for careers in digital government, regulatory technology, public sector consulting, or corporate compliance across various industries, whilst contributing to Singapore's healthcare resilience and crisis preparedness capabilities. Digital Compliance & Audit Systems You will explore and work with cutting-edge digital audit platforms and automated compliance monitoring systems to conduct risk-based assessments across Crisis Strategy and Operations Group (CSOG) operations. This includes utilising advanced data analytics to identify patterns in compliance data, predict potential risk areas, and generate insights from large datasets. You will use statistical analysis tools to evaluate control effectiveness and create predictive models for compliance monitoring. Technology-Enabled Crisis Preparedness You will help develop and validate digital crisis response mechanisms, ensuring that technology systems can support rapid emergency responses whilst maintaining robust governance. This involves using data analytics to assess crisis response performance, analyse historical incident data to improve preparedness frameworks, and develop real-time analytics dashboards that provide actionable insights during emergency situations. Digital Contract & Grant Management You will help to oversee compliance for digitally managed contracts and grants, working with electronic procurement systems and digital payment platforms. Using data analytics, you will identify spending patterns, detect anomalies in payment processes, analyse vendor performance metrics, and conduct trend analysis to optimise contract management processes whilst ensuring compliance with procurement regulations. Process Digitalisation & Innovation You will identify opportunities to digitise manual compliance processes through data-driven insights, analysing workflow efficiency metrics to recommend improvements, and implementing automated control mechanisms based on data patterns. This includes using analytics to measure process performance, identify bottlenecks, and design data-informed solutions that enhance operational effectiveness. Data Governance & Analytics You will work extensively with data management systems, using analytics tools to ensure data quality and integrity whilst leveraging machine learning techniques for anomaly detection. This involves conducting statistical analysis of compliance metrics, creating data visualisation reports for stakeholders, and using predictive analytics to forecast compliance trends and potential issues.

What we are looking for

Professional Experience/Qualification • Degree in accountancy, business administration, economics, banking & finance, information systems, data analytics, or related disciplines • Internship experience in audit, compliance, digitalisation projects, or related fields would be an advantage • Experience or track record of leading teams and managing stakeholders • Demonstrated experience in project coordination or process improvement initiatives Data Analysis & Technology • Mid to Advanced proficiency in data analysis and interpretation • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly: o Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, data modelling) o PowerPoint (presentation development) o Word (report writing) o Familiarity with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar platforms) o Basic understanding of digital audit systems and automated compliance tools o Ability to work with databases and data visualisation software Communication & Writing • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities • Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills • Experience in policy writing and documentation • Ability to translate complex information into clear insights Leadership & Management • Proven team leadership and people management experience • Project management expertise • Stakeholder management across various levels • Strategic planning and execution capabilities Personal Characteristics & Behaviour 1. Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
