What the role is

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector. As part of the Healthcare Innovation Planning & Coordination Traineeship hosted by MOH’s Future Systems & Innovation Division (FSID), you will get to work with a multi-disciplinary team that oversees MOH’s innovation strategy, driving the translation of strategic, clinically- and cost-effective health technologies in key interest areas into impactful implementations across Singapore’s public healthcare system. In the process, you will be exposed to working with a wide network of healthcare and innovation stakeholders to plan for and roadmap meaningful implementations.

What you will be working on

1) Coordinating the implementation of MOH’s AI roadmap for public healthcare, across different use cases in clinical and operational domains to enable healthcare transformation. This can range across various tasks such as: a. Coordinating the development pipeline across public healthcare and evaluating AI projects for MOH policy guidance and/or funding decisions b. Assessing implementation barriers and challenges to be reviewed with relevant MOH divisions c. Secretariat to key AI workgroups or committees, e.g. MOH’s AI Steering Committee (AISC) d. Prepare public communications materials/ talking points or briefs/ speeches on AI-related topics e. Horizon/ tech scanning in emerging areas/ use cases (e.g. agentic AI) and assessing potential utility for healthcare use 2) If interested in other interest areas, there is opportunity to work also on Robotics & Automation and/or Clinical 3D Printing.

What we are looking for

• Polytechnic diploma or university degree in healthcare/ science/ engineering/ technology fields will be beneficial • Strong interest in policy-ops-tech translation work and being able to rationalise and work across multiple perspectives and priorities Key Competencies Required • Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements – Demonstrates strong analytical and logical thinking, and applies understanding of context, timelines and operational realities to support decisions in a fast-paced environment. • Learning & Putting Skills into Action – Shows curiosity and willingness to learn and effectively applies new knowledge to assigned tasks. • Improving & Innovating – Open to new ideas and approaches, contributes suggestions for improvement and experiments responsibly with awareness of risks. • Working Effectively with Stakeholders – Builds positive relationships and works collaboratively with others towards shared goals. • Communicating Effectively – Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills, adapts communication style to the audience and purpose. • Adapting to a Dynamic Environment – Remains flexible and resilient, thrives in fast-paced settings and manages competing priorities under tight timelines.

Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
