The Graduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
The Ministry of Law ensures a sound and progressive legal infrastructure, intellectual property infrastructure and insolvency regime, and optimizes land resources, to support national goals. You will be part of the Individual Insolvency and Debt Repayment Scheme Division of the Insolvency & Public Trustee's Office (IPTO). You will be responsible for all areas of case administration under the Debt Repayment Scheme and be involved in engaging debtors, creditors, internal stakeholders, other government agencies and law firms.
The potential competencies that you can stand to develop from the Traineeship Programme include:
[Effective written communication skills]: These are necessary for correspondences with the debtors and creditors.
[Knowing and Applying Public Service-Level Acts and Regulations]: Be familiar with Public Service-level Acts and Regulations (e.g. Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act) that are relevant to the work;
[Possessing Interviewing Skills]: Possess and apply appropriate interviewing techniques to obtain important information to assist in the administration of the case.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Case Administration under Debt Repayment Scheme
a) Monitor debtor’s compliance with the terms and conditions of the approved repayment plan.
b) Manage debtors’ arrears plan, if any.
c) Handle both general and case-specific enquiries from debtors, creditors, solicitors and representations from Members of Parliament.
d) Process payments to creditors.
e) Review cases for cessation of the debt repayment plans (completion, failure or inapplicability for DRS).
What we are looking for

a) Academic Training preferably in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Law;
b) Meticulous and ability to multi-task, good interpersonal skills;
c) Good written and verbal communications skills;
d) Energetic team-player
e) Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
