What the role is

You will be part of a cross-functional team that builds and validates user-centric Artificial Intelligence (AI) products to meet defence needs. You will be involved in user research, design and testing, stakeholder engagements, features development and product rollouts while learning to navigate policy considerations and compliance requirements to balance innovation with security needs.

What you will be working on

- Participate in the User Experience (UX) design process from ideation to rollout - Work closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure design solutions are aligned with business objectives - Conduct research to understand users' needs, design the system flow, and develop wireframes and mock-ups to communicate design ideas - Conduct usability testing to validate design decisions - Identify areas for improvement

What we are looking for

- Background or familiarity in digital product design or User Interface (UI)/UX design - Portfolio demonstrating proficiency in UI/UX design and ability to translate users' needs into intuitive and visually appealing interfaces - Proficiency in design tools such as Figma - Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools - Passion towards design excellence and contributing to national defence The traineeship will be for a period of 6 months. Eligibility for GRIT@Gov traineeship

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

All trainees must fulfil the following criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident; and
  • Graduated or graduating in 2024 or 2025 from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and other Educational Institutions (e.g. private universities and overseas institutions); or
  • Graduated earlier from above institutions and completed National Service in 2024 or 2025.

Trainees who complete their studies from Universities, Polytechnics, the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) or other Educational Institutions within 2025 but who will only receive their qualification/certification award in 2026 are eligible for the programme as well.
