What you will be working on

The Network Project Office plays a crucial role within IMDA by focusing on enhancing the security and resilience of our telecommunication and media channels. As a Manager in this division, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing strategies to safeguard our digital infrastructure against scams and online threats.

You will be part of a dynamic team, which aims to:

  • Lead initiatives to strengthen our telecommunication and media channels against scammers, working closely with industry partners and government agencies to ensure a safer digital environment for all Singaporeans.

What you will be working on:

  • Devising and implementing new measures to further strengthen and safeguard our telecommunication and media channels against scammers.
  • Putting up proposals and administering grants or other programmes to support the industry in building up capabilities to detect and disable scams.
  • Engaging the industry to explore new ways and technologies to help clamp down on scams.
  • Undertaking robust and deep analysis of policy and regulatory issues involving scams in the telecom and media sectors in the short to medium term.
  • Obtaining multiple perspectives from internal and external stakeholders to develop robust and sound policy recommendations.
  • Working closely with other government agencies and Industry to ensure that mitigation measures against scam calls and messages are implemented and effective.
  • Playing an advisory role to other business units within IMDA regarding existing policy positions and new areas of policy work in the telecom and media space for scams.

What we are looking for

What we are looking for:

  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, Cyber-security or Public Policy. Other disciplines can be considered.
  • Good understanding of online harms and scams in the telecom and media sector (technology, market, regulatory), digital economy, business and consumer concerns, social-economic environment in Singapore, international developments and public policy.
  • Strong analytical abilities and an analytical and creative mind.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Resourceful, highly motivated, proactive self-starter who is result and stakeholder-oriented with multi-tasking capabilities.
  • Independent officer who is able to work well in a team and be involved in cross-team projects.
